Work package 1, Language as identity (WP LAI) looks at actor preferences as the driving force behind the processes of cohesion, creating distinct cultural communities. Specifically, we are looking at how the implicitly formulated ideals of society integration seek to create a common identifier across the cultural and linguistic groups affected. Two Research Tasks (RTs) of WP1 – Cultural markers of group identity, and Minority linguistic and cultural manuscripts – look at actors’ choices distinguishing actors in cultural, political, and social processes.
