ECMI calls for applications for the Summer School 2015 to take place on 9-15 August. The theme 2015: "Changing order and new insecurities in Europe and its neighbourhood: impact on national minorities". Deadline: 15 May 2015.
Following the successful kickoff conferences in Ukraine last month, the ECMI Eastern Partnership Programme (EPP) team is back in Kiev this week to conduct seminars in partnership with the Secretariat of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights.
The ECMI met with Language Commissioner of Kosovo Slaviša Mladenović to discuss cooperation on language issues affecting minorities in the region, how efforts are measured to ensure that progress continues to be made for communities in Kosovo and the challenges he faces as a minority for the Office of the Language Commissioner of Kosovo (OLC).
During a panel discussion on bridging the gap between the Danish-German border region, the ECMI Chairman Jørgen Kühl noted how the Bonn-Copenhagen Declarations ought to be seen as a model for minority issues in Europe.

The Minority Map and Timeline of Europe (MMTE) is an online interactive and hands-on research tool that provides an impartial perspective and evaluation of minorities, minority issues, and minority-majority relations within all states and regions of Europe.
