ECMI Internship – EU Programme

The European Centre for Minority Issues EU Programme is currently seeking an intern for the period 29 May – 1 September 2006. The intern will be assisting in the preparation of the second workshop on ‘The Aspect of Culture in the Social Inclusion of Ethnic Minorities,’ and all follow-up activities, including drafting the workshop report. Other responsibilities will include preparing background papers on social inclusion and the development of cultural indicators, editing country reports, and any other tasks assigned by the Project Manager. There may be some cross-over with other departments as necessary.

The intern will require a bachelor’s (ideally masters) degree in sociology, be willing to work independently, and in a fast-paced environment. The applicant is required to be a native English speaker, as some editing will be required. Other European language skills will be an asset, but are not required. The intern must be organized and have excellent communications skills.

Please provide a letter of motivation, CV and short writing sample (5-7 pages), which may be an excerpt of an academic paper, demonstrating knowledge of the sociological field, and English language competence.
