ECMI is looking for a Project Manager

Project Manager

The European Centre for Minority Issues, an international non-profit foundation based in Germany, seeks a Project Manager for its project in the Javakheti region of south Georgia (Akhalkalaki and Ninotsminda districts).

ECMI implements a project in Georgia to enhance the inclusion of minority communities in regions of compact settlement of national minorities, especially the Armenian region of Javakheti and the predominantly Azeri region of Kvemo Kartli. The project aims to engage local community stakeholders in political processes on policy issues affecting the regions of concern and to further the dialogue between civil society actors, local administrations and the central authorities. Moreover, the project provides training for local actors and maintains a grant facility. More information about ECMI can be found at www.ecmi.de .

The Project Manager is in charge of the day to day operations of the project in Javakheti under the supervision of the ECMI Regional Representative based in Tbilisi. S/he is based primarily in the town of Akhalkalaki (10,000 inhabitants) with occasional visits to Tbilisi and Kvemo Kartli. The project in Javakheti is the only international project staffed with an international representative in the area. The Project Manager resides at the ECMI resident office in Akhalkalaki; hence, the successful candidate must be able to sustain longer periods without international company. The climate in Akhalkalaki is harsh during winter with temperatures down to minus 25 degrees Celsius. ECMI offers an internationally competitive salary for the selected candidate.
