Stanislav Cernega (Slovakia)

Stanislav got his master’s degree in European studies from the Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia where he is currently pursuing his PhD studies. His dissertation project focuses on a relationship and interplay between stateless national minorities and the EU with a special focus on the Ruthenian minority in Slovakia.

His research interests include minority language rights, multilingualism, national identity construction, national myths and narratives, and use of social media in civic engagement. He recently spent a semester at the Centre for Research on Ethnic Relations and Nationalism at the University of Helsinki and did his internship at the Institute for Minority Rights at EURAC in Bolzano, Italy.

At the ECMI, Stanislav is involved in the implementation of the Eastern partnership Programme (EPP).
