ECMI Training in Georgia

Stabilizing minority governance in Georgia – ECMI training for government agencies and local authorities

In the period 10-16 September ECMI Deputy Director Ewa Chylinski will be delivering a series of training workshops on aspects of minority governance to the staff of Georgian governmental agencies, local authorities in the multiethnic region of Kakheti and members of the Council of National Minorities. This advisory and technical assistance work is conducted in the framework of the joint programme of the Council of Europe, Danish International Development Assistance DANIDA and ECMI Caucasus office on Enhancing Good Governance, Human Rights and the Rule of Law.

This series is a continuation of the first training workshops requested by the Georgian Ministry for Reintegration and related to issues of practical implementation of minority legislation, the international conventions and domestic application. The current training workshops will pertain to enhancement of language and culture diversity for Georgia’s many national and ethnic groups.
