German Ambassador to Denmark visits ECMI

Dr. Malloy and Ambassador Jessen

Ambassador Christoph Jessen, Germany’s envoy to the Kingdom of Denmark, visited the ECMI on 15 October 2010. The aim of the visit was to introduce Ambassador Jessen to the ECMI’s work and field operations. Ambassador Jessen met with Director Tove H. Malloy who gave an introduction to the Centre’s new research efforts as well as ongoing projects in Georgia and Kosovo. Finally, Ambassador Jessen also visited the ECMI Library and took a tour of the Kompagnietor building.

The ECMI has worked closely with the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs on a number of projects in Georgia, Moldova, Kaliningrad and Kosovo. For the Georgia projects, see www.ecmigeorgia.org and for the Moldova project, see www.ecmimoldova.org. In Kosovo, the Ministry is supporting the ongoing project, “Institutionalization of the Consultative Council for Communities in Kosovo” aimed to create a forum through which representatives of minority civil society could gain access to key ministries and have the opportunity to lobby for the inclusion of minority community interests within government legislation and policy. See at Current Projects.
