Typesetting Services
The European Centre for Minority Issues (ECMI) invites proposals from qualified providers to deliver professional typesetting services for the Journal on Ethnopolitics and Minority Issues in Europe (JEMIE), which is an open-access, peer-reviewed academic journal. The ECMI seeks a typesetting provider to enhance the journal’s presentation quality, its visual identity, and support the transition to a new format.
The provider will be responsible for the following services:
- Typesetting JEMIE’s regular and special issues, including an edition of the JEMIE Yearbook in December of each year.
- Maintaining consistent, high-quality professional formatting for all articles, book reviews, and special sections of JEMIE, adhering to its open-access digital format and ensuring compliance with indexing requirements.
- Collaborating and coordinating with JEMIE’s editorial team on layout adjustments, font styles, image and graphics placement, and any other design elements in order to enhance readability and professional presentation.
- Developing the new visual layout and style guide for JEMIE.
- Respecting agreed publication deadlines.
Applicants should demonstrate the following qualifications:
- Proven experience in academic journal typesetting, especially for open-access publications. Knowledge of academic indexing systems would be an asset.
- The ability to cooperate with JEMIE’s editorial team continuously to ensure the delivery of high-quality formatted content in a timely manner.
- The ability to create visual layouts for academic journals.
All tender offers will be evaluated based on three central criteria:
- The financial offer.
- Quality of the submitted portfolio.
- Qualifications and experience level of the applicant.
We invite interested service providers to submit:
- Cost estimates for (1) the development of a new visual layout and (2) per-page rates for typesetting an average of 700 pages per annum.
- Portfolio of typesetting work, preferably containing academic journal examples.
- A summary of qualifications.
