Dr. Andrea Mensi
Andrea is postdoctoral researcher in international law at the University of Lugano, Switzerland and adjunct professor of international environmental law at the University of Milan, Italy; Andrea is also an attorney practicing before the European Court of Human Rights, having particular experience on cases concerning religious, cultural and social rights.
Andrea obtained his Ph.D. in public international law in 2021 at Bocconi University in Milan, with a thesis entitled 'Indigenous peoples, natural resources and permanent sovereignty', supervised by professors Roger O'Keefe and Ilaria Espa. Andrea graduated cum laude in law in 2015 at Università Cattolica in Milan, with a thesis in international trade law supervised by professor Francesco Bestagno. Previously, Andrea was a trainee for the European External Action Service at the EU Delegation to the OECD and UNESCO in Paris.
His research areas and publications include general public international law, international environmental and human rights law. He is particularly interested in minorities and indigenous rights.
