30 Years of the ECMI

On Tuesday, 27 October 2026, the ECMI celebrated three decades of dedication and commitment since its founding in 1996. A small anniversary reception brought together founders, partners, and friends to look back on past achievements and reflect on our goals and ambitions for the future. The event featured speeches and contributions from our Chair, Garbi Schmidt, Professor at the Department of Culture and Identity at Roskilde University, Denmark; Linda Pieper from the State Chancellery; and Éva Adél Pénzes and Gösta Toft from the Federal Union of European Nationalities (FUEN). We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined us for this lovely evening and to all those who have supported the ECMI throughout the years. Here's to the next chapter!
