In Q&A#4, Dr. Craig Willis, consultant at the ECMI, interviews Prof. Elin Haf Gruffydd Jones. Elin is a Professor of Linguistic Diversity and Creative Industries at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David and the Director of the Centre for Advanced Welsh and Celtic Studies. She has worked in the field of European minority languages for three decades, focussing on media, the creative and cultural sectors, translation and language policy and practice. Her areas of expertise include artificial large language models (LLMs), their application in minority-language contexts, and creation and enhancement of LLMs in low-resource scenarios.
