| Description | In recent years, Europe has been transformed by the dramatic democratization of many former Communist states and the resulting expansion of the European Union. The fourth edition of this volume has been revised to analyze these events and explore how experts now view representative government. Continuing the tradition of previous editions, the text combines theory and application to real-world politics. The volume includes complete thematic discussions of the ten new countries in the EU, and includes comprehensive bibliographies for further research. |
